Another "Splash of Colour" was posted in August 2019:
What an incredible find, Sami. Those birds are beautiful. The idea of making those electrical cabinets beautiful is a great idea. You live in such a beautiful area where murals are everywhere. And WA is doing its part to make the spaces even more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to spend time with your family again. And I'm glad you made it through the time without being exposed to that virus, since you had to work every day.
Thanks Elizabeth, apparently there are quite a few of these boxes around and I heard of one in the suburb next to mine, so will pop around to that park in the next couple of days.
Delete...these birds and flowers sure provide a colorful splash! We have seen our grandchildren, but only from a far. Thanks Sami for hosting and take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. Restrictions have eased and we can now meet outdoors with up to 10 people and restaurants have opened today and can sit up to 20 as long as they can sit apart.
DeleteThis IS a happy colorful mural. And very well executed!
ReplyDeleteHang in there. I'm glad you can be with your peeps!
Thank you Jeanie, it was so great the see the kids again :)
DeleteIt is really quite wonderful to see utilitarian objects like this beautified for all, and via your blog, Sami, even for people around the world.
ReplyDeleteThank you David, hope to bring you all some more pretty electric boxes :)
DeleteGreat that you were able to find new outdoor art while still constrained about where you can go. We can go on outdoor walks, but haven't been anywhere likely to find a mural. So my blogging is mostly food and books.
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Some restrictions were lifted last week and from today a few more were lifted and people can now travel within the state. Thanks Mae.
DeleteVery well done. Much better than the plain old boxes.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, thanks Jim.
DeleteWe don't have many of those here, there's a few I've read about but we need more.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy :)
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to see your grands and found a nice park where you also had a picnic together!
Those paintings by Vanessa Liebenberg are exceptional.
Hugs,
Mariette
Thanks Mariette, it was nice to see the grandkids again :)

DeleteWhat an amazing way to decorate the electrical boxes with meaningful wildlife! Happy New Week Sami and I am so happy to hear that you met with your grandchildren after a long time! I am sure they missed you too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stevenson. I'll have to go and find some more colourful electrical boxes :) My grandson certainly missed us.
DeleteYou can never go wrong with murals of native birds and in this case, so true.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew. Native birds and flowers are always a hit.
DeleteElectrical boxes are so ugly, everywhere in the world. This painted birds are a good answer. Have a nice week
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito, yes the boxes look so much better with birds and flowers. Enjoy your week too.
DeleteE assim se transforma algo à partida feio, cinzentão, num espaço de cor e alegria.
ReplyDeleteBoa semana
Obrigada Pedro, boa semana para si tambem.
DeleteI'm so glad you were able to see the grandchildren. I knie...
ReplyDeleteThanks Bertie, it was lovely :)
DeleteKnow
ReplyDeleteOh that is such a pretty one Sami, love the native birds 💜 How wonderful to be able to see your grandchildren, I bet they had changed a bit, they do at that age and 10 weeks is quite a long time xox
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace. They have certainly grown a lot.
DeleteOh, that´s ALL beautifil!
ReplyDeleteThe fact you could see your wee ones again, and the murals.
I hope to see mine soon, too, it´s exhausting when they let the energy off via the phone, LOL!
I don´t know how Ingo did it, but each time I open the program to watch a DVD on my PC I hear Australian birds.
And now I see them here. Well, I miss a Magpie, though ;-)
Thanks Iris, I like magpies too, they are clever and can be cute too.
DeleteIt was a long time that I haven’t posted here, don’t know when the last time was. Anyway, here is. Ine for this week. https://mywanderings.travel.blog/2020/05/18/concrete-jungle/
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa and welcome back.
DeleteThey are very good painted and look very attractive this way. How nice to have a meeting at last with your grandchildren. We are living in strange uneasy times...
ReplyDeleteThank you Marianne. Yes, very strange times which will probably last for a while, but at least here things are easing up a little bit.
DeleteNice that decorated street furniture.Makes it so much nicer.
ReplyDeleteThank you S.C.
DeleteWe have lots of these boxes too, makes for interesting art.
ReplyDeleteLots of confusion here as some stores are allowed to reopen with lots of restrictions.
Thanks Jackie. Here restrictions have eased regarding meeting up with people, restaurants have opened with a max of 20 people, shops have opened, kids back at school, most people back at work.
DeleteHello, sounds like happy times again, being able to take a walk with your family. The murals and birds are so pretty. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen, have a wonderful week too.
DeleteThis is beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWe still are not to meet up with people!
Thanks Pat. We can meet up to 10 people outdoors.
DeleteVery nicely painted. I love the birds!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon.
Deleteglad you got to see your grandchildren again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Klara, yes it was wonderful :)
DeleteBeautiful painted birds! So nice that you got to see your grandkids. Does that mean there's light at the end of this tunnel? I'm getting tired of the dark!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, yes luckily Australia didn't do too bad, we are under 100 deaths, and in Western Australia we have had no cases for about 2 weeks. A few restrictions have been lifted, and others will gradually lift within the next month.
DeleteWe're still leery here about contacts even among family members who have been living at a distance. Yes, restaurants are reopening but it remains to be seen how many people will feel comfortable returning.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark. We have been lucky here as in our state (Western Australia) only about 500 people got the virus, and at the moment there is only one infected person in hospital, so people are feeling quite relaxed about it. I just hope it doesn't come back later once the borders with the other states reopen.
