Strange that you need such warnings/signs. Though, yes, reminds me of that mother on her bike who checked if the road is clear (it was) and let her 2-3 year old son just cycle through. How is he supposed to learn to stop and take a look if a vehicle is crossing?
People shouldn't need these signs, I think we should all be taught the right way to cross the roads, but who knows, maybe some people need to be reminded.
In the second sign, yes of course check, but the onus is on the truck to stop and a pedestrian should be able to freely walk across the crossing without having to check. It is not right that pedestrians should have to check. Our governments are trying to put everything back on pedestrians, and it is not right.
I agree with you Andrew, we shouldn't have to worry about crossing roads on the zebra crossing, but then some drivers could be distracted, so better check before crossing. Just recently I have had to stop twice in the middle of a crossing because two drivers just drove by when it was red for them! It could have resulted in a bad accident. Distracted drivers...
The ONE thing I like about these signs is, they rhyme, which makes them easy to remember. Like the "don't drown, turn around" when a road is impassible with water. Some things should be obvious, but OBVIOUSLY, they aren't! Great sign finds, though.

Delete...great signs, but didn't we all learn this when we were small children? Thanks Sami for checking in.
ReplyDeleteQuite right Tom, we should all have learned this with our parents :)
DeleteHello, these are important signs. Drivers should slow down at the crosswalks. Wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen, have a lovely day too.

DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteClear signs and using the bright yellow to attract full attention!
Hugs,
Mariette
Yes, they do attract our attention with that colour. Thanks Mariette.

DeleteI just go through life assuming that every driver on the road is a bloody idiot and proceed based on that.
ReplyDeleteYou might have the right attitude William, even though we shouldn't have to behave that way.
DeleteThese signs provide good advice. Traffic can be dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Taken for granted.
DeleteThen add people that are on their phones and then there is even more chance of injury or worse.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Sami. ♥
Yes, I think those signs are maybe aimed at those that are looking at their phones instead of the road.
DeleteWith these signs, I imgaine there are still some people who will not see them or read them. Have a wonderful day, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThose will probably be looking down at their phones, lol. Thanks Bill.
DeleteIt is good to remind people. These yellow & black signs get noticed well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit Riitta.
DeleteA catchy phrase and a good reminder!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lois.
DeleteThat is a great sign!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat.
DeleteGood signs Sami, it does worry me a lot when people cross, especially when they are wearing headphones and not concentrating ✨
ReplyDeleteNot a good way to go.
ReplyDeleteCertainly not Adam.
DeleteE olha para a rua e não para o telemóvel, acrescento eu.
ReplyDeletePois seria ideal lembrar isso às pessoas.
DeleteThose are good and very useful signs. We need them on our university campus!
ReplyDeleteHere inside the university campus cars can only drive at 40km.
DeleteHave also seen some for the new trams.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim :)
