Monday Mural - Everybody has a town

Painted by David Tripsanszki and Dorka Jakocs for the Colourful City Budapest Festival in 2014.
This 16mt (52ft) wide mural can be found on Dob Street 36 near the Gluten Free bakery in the Jewish District. The caption on the painted says "Everybody has a city", which is also meant to imply that every city has its own character typical of its citizens.

  1. Stunning art, lovely images, and nice symmetry. This artist is fantastic. I also like he painted it (or at least signed it) nearly four years ago to the day. You couldn't have picked a more timely piece to share this week.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. The date was certainly unintentional, I just picked a mural to post, but quite a coincidence :)

  4. While it is very impressive, it seems a little strange for Budapest.

  5. I wonder who those figures are... they look like they have a complicated story, but I haven't a clue as to their identity or myth.

    1. When I first saw it I thought they were the figures from decks of cards - Queen and King maybe? But probably not.

  8. Totally of topic, I love to see gluten-free in a post! My husband is celiac so it can be a trial when travelling.

    1. I'm gluten intolerant but my daugher's mother in law is celiac so on our trip to Budapest we had be careful with where we ate.

  12. So much detail here Sami. Interesting that the female figure is colourfully painted while the male is monochrome.. wonder what the significance is?

    1. Thanks Grace, I don't know either, couldn't find anything online, but I suppose because it was painted by 2 different artists who have a different style, maybe?
