If you've read my previous post about Lisbon, you would have seen the "Gloria funicular" that travels up and down between Saint Pedro Alcantara to Restauradores Square.
Right next to the Alcantara stop is a long wall of bright murals, as well as the tram is also covered in graffiti.
Not sure who the artists were.
If you enjoy murals, click on this link for other murals from around the world.

"Fight for Gloria" (Gloria = the funicular, I presume) |
Lots to see here. I like some of the murals better than others. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Halcyon. I also prefer the ladies faces to the others.
DeleteEsp the first two ones look like what I "expect" from Lisbon, in style and color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
Those are my favourites too.
DeleteDid you take these from the train Sami, well done fantastic captures! I was watching a program about São Paulo a while ago, have never seen so much street art and graffiti ever before!
ReplyDeleteI was outside waiting for the tram Grace. Street art seems to be a growing culture everywhere.
DeleteA great wall brightener!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom.
DeleteMurals seem to be everywhere, even in Lisbon. Nice ones.
ReplyDeleteYes they are very popular now. Thanks Marianne.
DeleteLove the ladies!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat. My favourites too.
DeleteWhat amazing murals. I even liked the cartoonish ones because they are so different from the ones you normally show. I really like how you find all these murals and how very different they all are.
ReplyDeleteWith so many artists painting them, there are lots of styles around, which makes it fun.
DeleteWhat a pleasant surprise on those otherwise dreary, dirty cement walls! Artists really put some punch into life!
ReplyDeleteThe murals certainly brighten any place.
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteAha, that's the reason that you walked half of your 'full ticket' on the Gloria funicular and otherwise we would not be looking at these photos!
Hugs,
Mariette
These were right by the stop at the top of the hill, we just thought it would be easier to walk down than climb the hill, and didn't know about the return ticket either...Thanks Mariette.
