It was painted by Portuguese artist Pedro Campiche also known as AkaCorleone and Dutch artist Hedof, to commemorate the 75 years of air services between Lisbon and Amsterdam by KLM.

ReplyDeleteThe mural reminds me a bit of our Happy Rizzi House.
That's right, similar style. I had seen that house on blogs before, it wasn't that way, or maybe not there when we lived in Braunschweig.
DeleteLots of wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom.
DeleteHow refreshing, and to think, you find wonderful murals wherever you go. Loved the air hostess in particular. This mural is adorable and the artist seems to take pride (and a bit of humor) in his art.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth, I also find it quite humorous, looks like a cartoon story.
DeleteVery artistic! Wonderful mural and great tribute.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marleen.
DeleteI should never thought to see the KLM in a mural and then such a big and colorful one. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThank you S.C. I know who would have thought to have KLM in a mural.
DeleteIt is a huge colourful project so wonderful done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne.
DeleteSomehow reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. Yes a jigsaw puzzle or a cartoon.
DeleteThat's fascinating, a subtle reference to KLM. I'd have expected them to have KLM written somewhere - I like it that they don't!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Thanks Wren. The only allusion seems to be the light blue plane. And then the Dutch narrow buildings.
DeleteThis one is awesome! I love all the colours and drawings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara.
DeleteI realized Corelone achieved this dense image using only 8 colors. Limiting the colors seems to highlight the wonderful rhythm of the composition. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting ODP. Glad you enjoyed this mural.
Deletegreat mural...I love that there is no negative space in this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marsha.
DeleteOh wow that's crazy fabulous Sami :)
