On Thursday 1st Jose started a new job - same position, same project, now working as a contractor for a different company. On Friday 2nd, he joined his ex-colleagues at his former company for a farewell party.
Saturday 3rd - We went to lunch at friend's house, near the suburb of Bassendean. Because we were early getting there, we stopped in the town centre to have a peek and I found a few murals.

Sunday 4th - a warm day, so Jose and I worked in the garden...the weeds are too awful this year, our small patch of grass in the backyard is almost obliterated by weeds!
But we in our veggie patch area we have an abundance of lettuce that just grew randomly. We had a few lettuces planted and I presume the birds or the wind scattered the seeds....
Thursday 8th - At the request of the Hand specialist I had a cortisone injection on my finger. (It didn't work!)
Friday 9th - Jose came home at about 7pm and we drove to Fremantle at the invitation of one of Jose's colleagues, that plays in a band "Little Pedros" at Clancy's Fish Pub.
When we got there, we got a drink and watched the band for a while, then went outside into the courtyard to order some food... Well, the kitchen had closed at 8pm, which is incredible for a pub in the what used to be a night life suburb! Jose went and said goodbye to his colleague and we walked around the centre of Fremantle looking for a restaurant... 5 restaurants later and they had all had closed by 8,30 or 9. Eventually we settled on a healthy burger at Grill'd which was still open and only closed at 10,30.
More murals spotted in Fremantle while we walked around...

Friday 16th - Met up with a recently retired friend and we picked up our older friend Vina who has moved into a retirement village, to take her out to lunch in the northern suburb of Mount Lawley.

On the way home I spotted 2 murals in the area and stopped to take photos....

Monday 19th - I had an appointment with a Periodontist (north of the city), to prepare for dental implants.
After the appointment I caught the free CAT bus (central area transport) back into the city centre and while walking a couple of blocks to the train station I came across a few beautiful murals, one of them a huge one, recently painted!

Saturday 24th - I attended a "Food preserving" workshop at the Cannington Exhibition Centre - "My Nonna life". These are always inspiring, but right now, apart from making jams, I just don't have the time for any more adventures into preserving....will leave those activities for when I retire.
Monday 26th - With Spring starting on the 1st of September the northern part of Western Australia suffered a heatwave as you can see from the temperatures quoted in the news (those cities are over 2000km north of Perth. The same day Perth had a maximum of 20,6C.
Wednesday 28th - Jose and I had a meeting with our financial advisor and were happy to see that our extra contributions to our "superannuation fund" (private retirement fund) have been making a difference and we are on track to hopefully retire next year.
After the visit Jose thought we should celebrate by having dinner at an Italian restaurant in the suburb of Victoria Park - "Bravo". The food was delicious, the service superb. We had been there a few years ago, so it was good to be back.
Friday 30th - My friend Maria and I (from our "Community Harvest Group") went to the Cannington Exhibition Centre to declutter our small storeroom. We bought a few new boxes to store our goods and got rid of a lot of stuff which I donated on our local "Buy Nothing Group".
Saturday 31st - We met up with two of the Doctors and a colleague that work in the Clinic where I work, plus our partners, to have dinner at the Peruvian Restaurant "Lima Cantina" in the northern suburb of Leederville. Everybody loved the share plates and the good service.
