Monday Mural - Wings

Monday mural meme is posted at 12,01am Monday, Western Australian time.  Thanks, Sami.

Looking through my MURALS photo file the other day, I discovered I had various murals with WINGS, so I'm posting them all today, as I thought they would also be appropriate for Spring.

The blue butterfly wings I discovered a few months ago at Carousel Shopping Centre, not far from me. No signature, I presume it was painted on a facade either covering an empty shop or a shop under renovation.

This one was taken in Fremantle- Called Karrak Dreaming, painted by Margaret River artist, Anita Revel.

And the last one, taken in Margaret River in December 2019, painted by Tamara Aurora, another Margaret River artist and sculptor.

  6. Pretty stuff.
These are those wings you can stand against and take pictures, no? The first one has one for a parent and kid. So cool. And it is so beautiful, too. It makes me want to paint one like that. :)

    Thank you for hosting, Sami.
Have a good week. And 'Happy Waiting for Spring.' :)

    1. Yes, they are very popular with people standing in front of them, I was alone so didn't get a photo.

  8. Ohhh, I haven´t seen the first wings!
Not the ones in Freo, for that matter... or the last ones. Seesh. Who knows when we´ll be back - can you visit your parents atm? Dumb question, huh. Weird, sad times... If we only could spread our wings. Clever one, Sami.

    1. I think the first and second are pretty recent Iris.
We can't leave WA Iris, we can only travel within the state, our borders are also closed to other States and you need special permission to travel anywhere. But there are flights from Emirates and Qatar flying to Europe, the only problem is when you return you have to stay 14 days in hotel quarantine and from (August I think it was) pay for it out of your pocket - something like $3000 each!! It would take the fun out of any travel...
Right now whatsapp is all we have.

  10. Some nice wings, Sami, and that hint of escape is very appealing. I like the first one with its adult and child size option.

  15. There were wings like these at the mall here for a while. But, the one I saw didn't have the little ones for kids to pose in front of. That's a great idea.

  16. Dearest Sami,
Love the wings by Anita Revel.
They make me think of the First Nation arts from our adopted daughter from British Columbia.
