Joining Tom with signs which you can check here.
Sat and Sunday 1st and 2nd - I started the month prepping and painting our camper trailer on this sunny weekend.
Also bought chestnuts and roasted them and baked cookies with persimmons that were given to us. Jose doesn't like the texture and I couldn't eat that many, so I had to find a way to use the pulp. They were quite good.
Friday 7th - Picked up one of my now retired work colleague and drove south to Rockingham to meet up with the other colleague who lives even further south in Mandurah. It's always nice to catch up with them every 2 months or so.
Sat 8th - Dinner at Yuka Japanese restaurant with 2 of the Doctors and one of my colleagues from the clinic and their partners.
Friday 14th - One of the Community harvest organizers invited the group to dinner at The Attfield 39 Bar & Bistro so we could celebrate our achievements.
Not much chance to talk though, as karaoke started, but we had fun joining in the singing.
Sat 15th - I finished painting the camper van, just need to buy some floor tiles to put on the floor.

Sunday 16th - Attended a 3rd birthday party at a park near my work place.
Friday 21st - Spent my day off work looking for sofas - went to 5 different shops, took lots of photos, measurements, etc. That night Jose and I chose 3 of the sofas that would better suit our lounge and budget.
Sat 22nd - Visited the two shops where those chosen sofas were and settled on a gray leather 2 1/5 seater recliner, which had a great price due to the end of the financial year sales. It was delivered at the beginning of August and I'll show you the new looking lounge in my next wrap-up.

Sunday 23rd - went to the movies to watch "Barbie", with Jose and one of the Drs from the clinic and a friend of hers, plus their husbands. It was a funny movie, great dialogue, can't believe how well it has done in the box-office in such a short time.
Friday 28th - I hosted a melt and pour soap workshop at cahrs for our community harvest group with 12 paying attendees. It went well and they all enjoyed the workshop and went home with 1kg of soaps (about 10 to 12).
Sat 29th - We decided we needed a few jobs done around the house, as our first and last renovation was done 15 years ago shortly after we bought our 70's funky house.
The kitchen island (our small appliance garage) which we made out of an Ikea cupboard, and Jose added wheels and a stainless steel counter always had an mdf back which I never liked, so the best thing was to add a wooden dowel backing and paint it.
The laundry cupboards had cheaper doors compared to the glossy doors in the kitchen, and they had yellowed. So I prepped the units with a shellac primer, lightly sanded, painted in a blue kitchen paint, but painted the top doors in glossy white.
I've now ordered a wooden counter from a wood merchant which is a little bit wider and will also have the same length on either side of the unit.

DeleteYou are truly living your life to the fullest. Envy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, doing what I can :)
DeleteCatching up is nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteI haven´t seen my T in ages, we only WhatsApp every day (he does not live in Braunschweig, but pre-COVID we did meet).
You make me all hungry here! The campervan looks great.
Love the Life Size Doll :-)
And will wait till the movie on TV...
I think I make Ingo bring his soap-utensils and you make him make soap! He still has not started!
The laundry looks great now.
Would love to have that dog-sign here, too!
Which driver... is that a prank, I suppose...
Thanks Iris. It's so easy and quick to make soap, maybe Ingo needs to get a lesson with me :) I wondered if the driver keeps chickens, or loves chickens? It is a weird one.
Delete...yes, you are a Life Size Doll! Sami, you sure keep busy with fun activities. Enjoy your August.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom :)
DeleteI am a bit excited about your campervan and the tales that will follow.
ReplyDeleteI hope your new sofas are comfortable to sit upon, the first requirement for lounge suites.
Good work with the kitchen and laundry. How lovely it would be to have an open laundry like yours.
Thanks Andrew, yes the sofa is very comfortable, Jose falls reclines it and then falls asleep. It is a good enough laundry with a door to the outside side passage.
DeleteOh the food. Oh the food.
ReplyDeleteWe just got new sofas too. Always fun.
Have a fabulous day, Sami. ♥
Thanks Sandee. What a coincidence about the sofas :) Enjoy them
DeleteI always love your monthly wrap ups! It looks like you two live a very happy and fun life! I love your laundry room!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. We try to have some fun, we have to enjoy life before we get too old, lol.
DeleteRoasted chestnuts from a street vendor are one of life’s very greatest treats.
ReplyDeleteDavid, that is very typical in the streets of Lisbon or Porto, a dozen chestnuts in a rolled up piece of newspaper, love it! Sadly not something you see in Australia...
DeleteYou have had a busy month.
ReplyDeleteThank you William :)
DeleteYou do so much! Your camper van is beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia, I'm happier with it being brighter and not bland brown :)
