A surprising find - a Frida Kahlo mural - in the small lane where our guest house was located in Ubud, just before we reached Joglo Organik restaurant where we had lunch one of the days - the murals of the Balinese women are inside the restaurant.
The mural of the cat that was being painted at the Ubud Yoga House was also in the same lane.
Frieda was a surprise, but she goes so well with the monkeys which she also drew so well. This is a beautiful and colorful mural. Of course, I love the cat mural, too. I hope you are enjoying your holiday.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. I too was surprised to see a Frida mural in Bali.
Deleteamazing to find traces of Frida kahlo in Bali. Once again these collected murals are beautiful (kwarkito)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwarkito.
DeleteAloha Frida! And love that cat of course. Thank you so much for hosting us. I'm wishing you a beautiful week!.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia.
Delete...Sami, you certainly found a number of fabulous mural. Safe travels on your trip and good mural hunting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. I'm hoping to find some murals, maybe not where I am in Germany , but there will be lots in Portugal for sure π
DeleteI love a beautiful mural on a humble building.
ReplyDeleteVery true Jeanie, a humble building in a not very frequented lane.
DeleteThe one of Frieda Kahlo is a perfect likeness but I love the cat one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy. A pity I didn't get a closer pick of the cat mural.
DeleteSuch a series of local unique and cultural murals you have taken
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare. I have visited your blog, but it's been the only blog where I haven't been able to leave a comment. Somehow my own mobile wants me to sign in to blogger, when I never had a problem when in Australia....but then when I try to sign in, I'm already signed in...can't figure it out, sorry.
DeleteI think the cat mural looks excellent.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew.
DeleteOf course I must be partial to a cat mural.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of Frida murals here that I should photograph.
Thanks William, I like cat murals too, but not easy to find.
DeleteI cant seem to leave comments to Jim and Pictografio. I have tried for HOURS and am ready to give up.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad Elizabeth, I'm having problems too, as I'm commenting via my mobile phone, somehow all of a sudden I'm anonymous, but when I try to sign in to blogger I'm already signed in.... and there's been one blogger where I'm just unable to leave a comment. Frustrating!!
DeleteA Frieda estΓ‘ excepcional.
ReplyDeleteBoa semana
Obrigada Pedro, boa semana
DeleteWonderful finds! I hope Grace pops in, too...
ReplyDeleteThanks Iris
DeleteLoving your Bali finds, Sami! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting.
Have a lovely week. :)
Thank you Dee. In "freezing " Germany at the moment.
DeleteBeautiful murals there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marianne. Sorry I was able to leave a comment in your husband's blog but not in yours.
DeleteBeautiful that Frida Kahlo mural and also that other girl. Good work in Bali as long as it does not overwhelm the unique character of Bali.
ReplyDeleteThanks SC
DeleteFrida Kahlo could never have imagined the worldwide icon she would become.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she could never imagine how famous she became. Thanks David.
DeleteVery nice murals again, dear Sami! Frida Kahlo can obviously be found everywhere - I also photographed a Frida mural in Costa Rica. It wasn't as well done as yours here, though. I'll show it in a later post. Today I show a (still quite new) mural from my former hometown Vienna.
ReplyDeleteHugs & happy March days!
❤️ Traude❤️
Thanks Traude. Happy March π
DeleteBeautiful series of murals. I love the Freda Kahlo mural. Great finds, have a wonderful week.

DeleteI'm surprised to see Frida Kahlo in a mural in Bali. Surprised and pleased to see it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, quite unexpected to find Frida in Bali.
DeleteFrida seems to be everywhere. They have a lot of great murals in Bali, Sami.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, I was surprised to see so many murals in Bali.
DeleteI love them all. Seeing Frida in Bali at first surprised me, but then again she’s an international artist.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. Friday seems to be popular all over the world.
DeleteInteresting murals. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Sorry I'm also unable to comment on your mural. I'm in Europe, reading the posts on my cell phone, which doesn't seem to be recognising my blogger account, and keeps on telling me to sign in to blogger, but I am signed in! But there were 2 or 3 blogs where it wouldn't let me leave a comment at all!
