Monday Mural - A Splash of Colour IV and birthday celebrations

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks, Sami.

Painted in 2018 by Perth artist Peter Ryan for the Splash of Colour Community Art Program, this wastewater pumping station cabinet has been transformed into a public art piece. It's located in Mends Street in South Perth, and in the last two photos you can spot the city centre just across the Swan River.

And today the 8th of March we celebrate International Women's day, and I wish all women a most wonderful day. Sadly there is still much to be done towards equality and rights for women...

The 8th also happens to be our daughter's birthday, and we wish Karina a wonderful day - we are so very proud of her achievements, her kindness and generosity with  everyone, her work ethic and so much more.  A most wonderful daughter!

A wonderful birthday wish also goes to Paula from
https://pontoaquipontoacola.blogspot.com/ who celebrated her birthday on the 7th of March and celebrated her 5th blog anniversary on the 3rd of March.

Paula and her husband kindly blogged a birthday post for my birthday on their respective blogs on the 2nd of March, which was very kind of them and really touched me.

As I mentioned above I celebrated my birthday on Tuesday 2nd, and apart from having to work the whole day, got home at 6pm and then Jose took me out to dinner at Malaysian Delights - a new restaurant near us.

I felt very privileged and lucky to receive over 200 messages via facebook, messenger, whatsapp, sms's, phone calls, and as I mentioned before even in two blogs, and it's taken me ages to read and reply.

  1. Happy belated birthday, Sami. I feel bad that I didn't know, but computer time has been replaced by real life this past week, I fear. It's too bad you had to work on your birthday, but at least you didn't have to prepare a meal that day.

This utility box is truly a SPLASH of color. It has so much going on all sides. Thanks for sharing this very clever and colorful set of murals with us. I loved each side. Again, happy belated birthday.

    1. Thank you Elizabeth :) I don't expect my blogging friends to know about my birthday, we all lead complicated lives with lots going on. Goodness I almost forgot the date myself, just remembered a few days before, as I was so busy.

  3. Happy birthday to all! Those decorated utility boxes are a really great improvement over the utilitarian drab colors of the past. We have quite a few of them around here too.

    1. Thanks Iris. I heard on the news today that it will take another 100 years before women will achieve equality in terms of pay, house ownership, etc... a long way to go!!
