Signs - Perth

The first photo of Perth's sign in front of the Yagan Square digital tower , and was taken in January 2019. The numerous flags show the ethnic diversity of Perth's residents.

When we went to the city for the Michael Bubble concert this past February, the sign was now white. Apart from other "adverts" showing on the tower, my favourite was the black swan.

The black swan (Cygnus atratus) is a  species of swan which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest regions of Australia. Perth's main river, the Swan river was named after them, and they are also on the coat of arms and flag of Western Australia, apart from featuring in coins and names of sports teams.

For more signs from around the world please go over to Tom's blog.

  3. Ohhh. Beautiful, Sami (do they move the Perth-sign?).
See. I was there all on my own, even Ingo was "at home" and I enjoyed it immensly.

Did you know near Düsseldorf they have these black swans, too?
But I prefer the Perthie ones, certainly :-)

    1. I originally saw the Perth sign with the flags by Elizabeth Quay, then it was moved to Yagan Square. I had no idea about black swans in Germany.

  14. The message is clear, Perth is the place to be. Sorry to hear you can't respons on my blog anymore. I had to make a barrier for the awful spam I received all the time. But you can still comment on my blog, I receive it on my email and I can decide to publice it or to remove it. It works very well with most of my followers.
