The 30mt x 2,5 mt (98,4ft x 8,20ft) mural took 3 days to paint and features local bird species such as the crow, ibis and galah which were painted by Fieldey, while the students and two art teachers - Ali Blackwell and Jenna Antoniolli contributed to the patterning.
Fieldey was born in New Zealand in 1980, moved to Norfolk Island (a tiny Australian island in the South Pacific ocean) as a young child and has been residing in Perth since 2007, having started her art career as a surfboard artist.

Thanks, Sami. The whole mural at Bull Creek shopping centre |
As you might imagine, Sami, I am enjoying this mural very much. The birds are even rendered correctly. I think that Australia is the mural capital of the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks David, yes the birds are very well painted. We do have many murals indeed.
DeleteBeaucoup d'oiseaux magnifiques sur les murs de ta ville...
ReplyDeleteMerci Kwarkito, Ils sont magnifiques.
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful native birds by Fieldey!
Hugs,
Mariette
Thank you Mariette :)

Delete...nature is always a great subject matter!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is Tom, plenty of beautiful things.
DeleteMore great birds! As a birdwatcher, I more and more want to come to Australia and see them -- the real ones and the painted ones.
ReplyDeletebest.... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I'm sure you would find plenty of either all over Australia Mae :)
DeleteTres belle!
ReplyDeleteThanks William :)
DeleteShe paints beautifully. These are incredible birds. And I love the geometric backgrounds, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. The backgrounds really makes the mural pop.
DeleteIn your comments on my mural you asked "Are the boats pulled by cows?" I believe using the bathtub was the artistic license of the artist. He seems to have a great sense of humor and contributes at least a couple of wonderful murals every year.
DeleteThanks Elizabeth. Artistic license indeed :) :) Still a great mural.
DeleteI like the background contrasting colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew, it is quite a beautiful mural.
DeleteNice mural
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
DeleteBonito mural.
ReplyDeleteMas os passarinhos não chegam aos calcanhares do meu Artur ... :))))

Obrigada Pedro. Quem e o Artur? Boa semana.
DeleteBeautiful, also with the "tiles". Oh, I miss your ravens, ours are so boring!
ReplyDeleteThanks Iris. The ravens are very clever and I enjoy their loud chats :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen, have a lovely week too :)
DeleteOMG! A Woolworths! I haven't seen or even heard about that shop in ages.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange that the original Woolworths in the States and UK have closed their doors, but here we have a thriving Woolworths, but they are a supermarket.
DeleteUm belo mural e aproveito para desejar uma boa semana.

Thanks Jackie. The ibis or "bin chickens" as they are known here, I also like it.
DeleteThe birds are wonderful but the patterns in the background are fabulous! What a great mural!
ReplyDeleteYou're quite right Pat, the background helps a lot.
