We stayed at an Airbnb in the vibrant bohemian quarter of Cours Julien, and as well as a lot of ugly graffiti, there is a lot of street art in the little lanes, shopfronts, garage doors, etc.

Those must be the faces of historic figures, but I'm not sure I know them. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteHere we have Halloween street art in all the front yards -- not exactly murals, but I hope close enough to be ok here.
best... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
These were on the wall of a Theater, so I presume they could be actors dressed in character.
Delete...I like the black and white with touches of red. Thanks Sami for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom.
DeleteThose are beautiful street art paintings/murals. We only have a few murals in my neck of the woods. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit Alexandria.
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteThe surface of those window roller blinds does not make them look any better. Rather grim looking...
Hugs,
Mariette
It must be quite difficult to paint over those roller blinds. Thanks Mariette.

DeleteOne of them looks like Andy Garcia.
ReplyDeleteYes, the one on the second photo. I thought the same when I saw them. Thanks William.
DeleteSome of these faces look familiar yet I can't place any with any great certainty. Quite a project, though.
ReplyDeleteEither just everyday faces that look familiar or they are movie or theater artists as the murals were on the walls of a Theater. Thanks Jeanie
DeleteIt's a great collection of marseille's faces
ReplyDeleteThank you Kwarkito.
DeletePortraits really do lead you to want to know more about these people.
ReplyDeleteThanks Revrunner, I wish I knew who they were :)
DeleteNice murals
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
DeleteEssentially black and white murals with the red touches works really well.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will find lots of murals Bertie :)
DeleteI can't believe I linked, then got a phone call and completely forgot to leave a comment. These are so cleverly done. The faces look so realistic. It was great to see these instead of graffiti. You made a great find.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. Yes, certainly better than graffiti and not easy to paint faces.
DeleteIt must be really fun to close your shop and see those faces then!
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful!
Thanks Iris :)
DeleteThe faces are a bit "old fashioned". I wonder if they are important people or just someones great aunt and uncle.
ReplyDeleteI think they must be either Theatre or movie stars, as they were painted on the outside walls of a Theatre. Thanks Joan :)
DeleteWilliam is right - one looks like A. Garcia. ;-) I guess it is not easy to paint on roller blinds.
ReplyDeleteI agree Klara, it does look like Andy Garcia.
DeleteGostei destes murais e aproveito para desejar uma boa semana.
