Of course the event wasn't just for dog owners, all were welcome.
It was a fun day for young and old and for all the four legged woofs that participated and joined their owners at the park.
Sadly the choice of food vans was minimal which is not usually the case, but I heard the Council was charging a high fee for them to participate...
This was an event to celebrate 'dogs' and inspire the participants to celebrate a happy, healthy balanced life with their pets.
Best of all I found plenty of signs!
For other signs from around the world check Tom's blog.

I was amazed how well the dogs behaved, some of them were pretty cute light the little fellow below, and some were very adventurous going on the paddle board with their owners.
Looks like a great opportunity for dog owners to get together and enjoy their dogs.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was David, and all the dogs were very civilized and behaved beautifully!
DeleteMuito interessante minha amiga, gostei e aproveito para desejar a continuaĆ§Ć£o de uma boa semana.

Obrigada Francisco, boa semana.
DeleteHello, I love all the cute dogs and the signs. We have a similar event here, mainly to help dogs find new homes. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen. That is a good cause. Here they had a booth to arrange greyhound adoptions
Delete...interesting facts about dogs! Dog as they say are man's best friend. Thanks Sami form sharing your WOOF post, enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Tom.
DeleteI hope the dogs were really having fun! The people obviously were. It's amusing that the old idea that dogs have a better sense of smell than people persists despite neuroscience exploration of the topic that turns out to be more complex and not what was thought in earlier times. But it's too appealing an idea to disappear (no matter what science discovers).
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae :)
DeleteGreat fun! We have a similar event here called Woofstock!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great name for the event Pat.
DeleteOMG - What an amazing and fun way to spend the day! The best dressed dog was so clever too! You took some really great pictures, and made wish I was there to celebrate too! Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteLots of wagging tails!
ReplyDeleteLots of happy dogs there William.
DeleteWe love pups and kitties here and this is awesome. We need to be aware of what they need to keep them healthy and happy. Great post.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Sami. ♥
Thank you Sandee :)
DeleteDearest Sami,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like having been a great event for humans and for woofies.
Hugs,
Mariette
Yes, great event for both, thanks Mariette.
DeleteWhat a fun post, but I thought you were a CAT person (grin). Seriously, this is a great event. We have something similar, but it's a dog and people marathon run for charity. They call it WOOFSTOCK and people raise money for shelter dogs so they aren't euthanized. I thoroughly enjoyed your photos, too.
ReplyDeleteI am a cat person Elizabeth, but don't mind dogs. I actually have no idea what is being done with the money raised with this event, hope it would be for the dog shelter. Woofstock is a great name :)
DeleteWhat great dog signs. No new information, but good to let people know about their dogs. Love the giant "Woof".
ReplyDeleteThanks Taken for Granted :)
DeleteA dog themed day out must be fun. We have a Portuguese food van that gets around and seems to do good business.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew, it certainly was a fun day. I also want a Portuguese food van here :) The only place to get Portuguese food in Perth is the Portuguese club and we have a bakery/cafe, but both are about 30min from me.
DeleteWOOF! to you too

DeleteThat puppy is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThe puppy was just so beautiful I have no idea what race it is. Thanks
DeleteAdam.
Great signs, Sami. But... isn´t that mascot a lion?!
ReplyDeleteThe infos are a great idea.
A cuddle booth, how sweet is that!
Thanks Iris. Yes that is a lion, I have no idea why there was a lion mascot when they have a dog mascot in the City of Canning. Maybe the dog was busy :)
DeleteLooks like such a fun event Sami. Isn't it amazing that dogs can predict prostrate cancer! You have a super series of signs here xox
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace, very interesting facts indeed.
DeleteI like you reply to Iris. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Revrunner, lol.
DeleteWoof! Wouldn't it be fun to replace doctors with dogs?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it will happen one day Linda :)
