Can't believe I still hadn't posted these murals, photos taken in April 2025 when I met up with Grace and we had lunch at Hillary's Harbour.
All murals by Perth based artist Peter Ryan.
The following murals are from Sorrento Beach, just a 15 minute walk from Hillary's Harbour, also painted by Peter Ryan in March 2019.
The inspiration came from drawings by kids from Mullaloo Beach Primary School, which he had the challenge to incorporate into the murals. They were painted at the Sorrento Surf Club and at the shower block.
The students visited the site to view the process and each left their paint mark before they left.

Impressive collaboration by an artist and schoolchildren! Our weather has been depressing so I haven’t seen any actual murals lately, but I located some for Valentine Day by the most famous mural artist.
ReplyDeleteTHanks for hosting.
Thanks Mae. I liked your mural finds, sorry about your weather.
DeleteThese are really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jim.
Delete...Sami, these are fabulous, on this cold winter day you transported me back to Maui! Thanks for hosting and I wish you a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom, glad these murals were able to transport you to warmer climates :)
DeleteCes peintures sont toutes plus joyeuses et colorées les unes que les autres, c'est un vrai régal et un hymne au soleil et la mer. Merveilleux
ReplyDeleteMerci Kwarkito. A true hymn to see and sun for sure!
DeleteThese are great! We've got a new mural near us and the artist popped into the neighbourhood fb group to explain the back story. I will try to stop by for next week. It was really lovely to get the full thinking behind the design.....
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that the artist has presented the mural and story behind it. Hope you show it to us soon Lydia.
DeleteLove especially "The big fish", Sami, and need to go back to Hillarys, but what is with the weather, where is summer??? 25C is too cold for a swim! Need to look up Sorrento Beach :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Iris. We went out for a walk around the neighbourhood last night and Jose said "What happened to Summer this year?" It was quite cool at night, but even during the day it has been much cooler than normal. Sorrento Beach is next to Hillary's Boat Harbour.
DeleteThey are great and I'm sure in person they add to what is already such a great area.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly brighten up the beach area. Thanks Andrew
