Monday Mural - A different view

I love murals and street art. If you like murals or have a mural you'd like to post, this meme is for you.  Just follow the Linky steps below.  Once you start looking you will find murals everywhere.  The "Monday Mural" meme goes live on Monday at 12,01AM, Perth,Western Australian time. Be sure to link back to this blog and visit your fellow posters. Looking forward to your mural finds this week.  Thanks, Sami.

A collaboration by street artists Vans the Omega (from Sydney) and Beastmen (from Adelaide), this mega mural at 140 Wellington Street, on the side wall  of The Globe heritage building was painted in July in 2014 for Public 2014 Art in the City.

This Christmas as part of the "Blue trail" one of the 2 Christmas lights trail in Perth, this mural was illuminated with festive patterns and pops of colour.

Across the road at Yagan Square the 45mt (147ft) high digital tower with a circular screen and 14 columns inspired by the bulrushes found at the lakes that once occupied this site, and representing the 14 Noongar language groups is used to transmit live-streamed events, visual artworks, abstract graphics, adverts...

It also responds to movement in the space using interactive weather, pedestrian and train movement sensors. (Perth's main train station is right next to it).

This is what is was transmitting on New Year's Eve - the time counting down to the 9pm mini fireworks, then works of art... Presumably just before the midnight fireworks it would show the countdown clock again.

  1. This is both colorful and amazing. The mural is a bit odd with the various colors of the woman, but the circular digital tower is incredible. What an interesting concept that even foot traffic could set the piece in motion. It's got some beautiful art, too. Happy 2022 to you, too, Sami.

That mural sure does not show the most friendly faces... rather 'sour' looking.
